DISEASE QUESTIONNAIRE
Problem
1. Please explain the problems with your fish/when and how they started:
German Ram seems to have white pimple like dots on his face. Only noticed these 2/3 days ago and some now appear to have popped.
2. Symptoms: The almost puss like pimple's on his face, not eating as much as he was and has also slowed down and keeps to himself at the bottom of the tank.
3. What medications/ treatments that you have already tried and results. Include dosages and duration of treatment.
I have not tried anything yet as he is still in the community tank with my Discus.
Tank/Water
4. Tank size and age, number and size of fish.
Tank is a Jewel Vision 260 which I have owned for approximately 12 months.
I have 8 discus in total with all but one being very juvenile,
Clean up crew include ;-
5 x Clown Loach
5 x Cory Cats
2 x Whiptail Cats
2 x Peppermint Bristlenose
As well as 10 x Cardinal Tetras, 2 x German Rams and 3 x Rummynose
5. Water change regime/ how long has tank been running/ bare bottom or gravel/ do you age your water?
I have a gravel botton as it is a planted tank, the tank has been running for at least 7 months, was cycled for 2-3 months before any fish went in.
Daily water change of approximately 100Lt per change. At this stage my water is still not aged.
6 Parameters and water source;
- temp: 28.7-30 Degrees C
- ph: 6-6.5
- ammonia reading: 0.00-0.25
- nitrite reading: 0
- nitrate reading: 10
- well water ____
- municipal water ____
GH: 7-8
KH: 7
On another not, the Discus seem to be thriving on the new water change regime. All but the Red Melon I would say. Still has white poop and still wont eat.
I work really long hours guys but I am planning on emptying the spare tank today and will cycle it and transfer both the Red Melon and Ram into that tank once the water tests ok. Also planning on downsizing the non Discus fish in my tank b y moving the Cardinals and Rummynose.
