Use a python, very easy straight from tap, and use prime or safe.

Of course, collect it in a barrel or any container (I use a 275 gallon tote) then water your lawn and flower beds with it.

Recycling water for your fish would require you to get a water treatment equipment which would cost you more than what would be your water bill.

You would then pay for the difference of the water bill

I've recycled on a huge scale; as mentioned, unless drought occurred, it's absolutely not cost effective...the necessary equipment has many zero's behind the numbers..Gary

Recycling to re-use the water will def cost more to do than the water bill. Only useful recycling I've done is use the fish water in a home garden.

If you absolutely have to recycle, distill the water. That will also take out trace minerals that fish and plants need. It also costs money to heat the water for distilling. If you must, offer to pay a fraction of the water bill that you use. If do not live on a desert island or something like that it cannot be much of a bill.

I recycle all the water I use. I have a 75 foot python. All the drained fish tank water goes out on my trees and lawn. I also use pure RO water with minerals for the replacement water. All the RO waste water is also recycled out on the lawn and trees via an opening in my garage where the RO unit and water holding tanks are placed. We are on a private well in the middle of what appears to be another Texas drought. So no wasted water here.
