Yes John, I couldn't agree with you more!! I think it's the banter between us that gets me going. There must be something wrong with us. You'll say it's just me. I don't know but I have a lot of fun. That's the name of the game.

The reason I enjoy these conventions is I get to meet soooo many people with the same interests. I find it fascinating that there so many other people as crazy as I am. No other place like it !!! With that I would like to thank EVERYBODY that attended to make this so special.

Skip the problem is that discus are a fairly narrow interest. It is very hard to find new and exciting speakers for the show. If it was done every year it would be even harder. Every year would mean we would have an ok show …every 2 years mean we have a GREAT show. Personally I prefer 1 GREAT show every other year to an ok show every year.

I got there Friday afternoon.......I knew everyone worked hard to set this up but WOW (!), it is impressive.

I am from Western Canada,Alberta, and my wife and I went to Atlanta.We spent 4 days in Savannah before the show

We absolutely love the south and it's people. The south is nothing like it is shown in movies

Show was beyond our expectations. The people were great. Only complaint is that there was not enough time to talk to everyone

Actually the trip was pretty good--4 hours to Dallas and another hour to Savannah--Dallas is quite the airport-you take a train between terminals

Coming back was not as good--Atlanta airport was easy, like Dallas, but Chicago was not so good

We could not figure out where the Westjet terminal was and when we asked,no one had heard of them

Eventually a nice lady at United Air looked it up on the computer and directed us--only a mile walk or so--no train

I never bought any fish due to the hassle of bring them back although a couple of fellows from Ont bought fish and shipped to Buffalo--they were going to drive down and get them

I do know the show fish went for very high prices--I am afraid to repeat them

The auction was very small and only a few discus were for sale--it was over in 15 minutes or so

Interesting aside--I went to a Petsmart in Atlanta and the prices were identical to Red Deer--the brand of cat food I buy was right to the penny

Trip was not that expensive--how do you put a price on talking to the various speakers--Andrew was really special--he seemed to spend the whole weekend talking to groups of people---wild and crazy guy (as he describes himself)

Don... ....talking is my joy....and that's how my wife got cheated by me.....a ha ha ha... Nice talking to you too....I'm very engaged in conversation on my passion.....and discus is my passion and of course others....sss.....

April, the next show will be 2 years later.....a long long wait..and a lot of patience. I remembered when Eddie invited me more than a year ago.....I think almost one and a half year and I told myself "Wow....so long...can I live till that day" Finally it came to pass.....

Don't know whether I'll be there in the next show......I'm semi-retired......and if I'm not invited, I'll have to start saving up....sure love to be there.

Anyway, you guys can come visit me in Singapore in-between......

It was nice meeting you and your wife. We did bring back some fish. The box was shipped Delta cargo and was was on the same flight we were in. We drove round the Buffalo airport to the cargo side picked up the box and drove home. Canada customs was no issue. We told them we had live fish and the tpye (chiclids) and the guy waved us through.
