If they lay eggs they are probably female. It is very difficult, even the experts can be wrong sexing Discus.

Lol I started laughing when I read that "if they lay eggs they are probably female" for whatever screwed up reason a tranny discus speaking like a man and wearing a dress just popped into my head.... Sick twisted world...

Tara, I was only kidding. If I remember there are some fish that can change sex as adults. I think some live bearers and some reef fish. I am correct about reef fish, I googled it quickly.
I did not read enough to find out about live bearers.

Once again, if I remember correctly, Hans in his June thread "Pairs ..." he identified a fish as male but he changed his mind when it laid eggs. That is not a knock on Hans, it just shows how difficult it is to sex Discus. I do suspect that Hans is correct 99% of the time at least.
