I am sorry to start a new thread but I could not find this recent thread. I also tried the search box. Someone posted that their Pharmacy would not accept their insurance for a prescription after they accepted their plan for previous prescriptions. I am a Dentist who takes insurance. I asked my friend the Pharmacist what the law is in New York State. A Pharmacist is not required by state law to accept your insurance for a prescription. If you Pharmacy participates in your prescription plan he may be required by the plan to accept your insurance. I do not know the law nor did I ask if the Pharmacy must accept your insurance for a refill of a prescription if they accepted your insurance for the original prescription. This is for NYS only. Regulations vary by state but they are often the same or similar to other states. The OP was worried about prescriptions for their child so I did the research to find the facts for them.
