Hi, I would love to ask some questions to those member who have/had experience with shrimp and discus. The reason why I ask these question is because I want to setup a crytal shrimp tank and the question is can I use the same siphon and bucket to do the WC for both tank? If the shrimp carry any disease will the discus got infect it? Please help me out here and thank you for viewing this thread!
good gawd man!
how larger is your shrimp tank?
i use air hose.. and let it siphon out.. with a airstone on inside to keep them from coming out..

I siphon my shrimp tanks the same way as Skip...too hard to not siphon shrimp any other way...
But my Discus tanks I want the water out now (really about 5 minutes before I started!) lol Larger hose is better - to move as much as possible
Not sure exactly about diseases but since both are fresh - I imagine it's possible....

I want to setup a 20g shrimp tank with black gravel and moss. For Warlock, if you use air hose to drain out the water, isnt that too slow? For Warlock and nwehrman, do you guys know any good and reliable source or person to buy the crystal shrimp? and for those member out there if you guys know anything about disease please let me know. Thanks

You should not have any problem using equipments for your CRS with discus.
For my 20 and 40 gal CRS tank, I draw water using a pump (same pump as one of my discus tank). You should draw more than 10%-15% at a time anyway. For my 5 and 10 gal CRS tank, I use a cup to draw water.
