Discus with CRAYFISH ?

hi, Guy is it safe to have Discus with 1.5inch to 2-inch crayfish? i planning to buy some and put it in with my discus.

Can they tolerate the high temps?
I know that they can get aggressive and bigger than 2" which is why I decided not to look further into buying them.

well the breeder say they fine with temp of 86-88. my only concern is that my discus stay very low to the bottom at night and they'll get to them.

I always err on the side of caution with my discus. It is just not worth risking almost $500 worth of fish.

I had a blue lobster with mine for a while. He'd try to get em but was to slow.

Someone at my lfs told me that crayfish would kill anything they get ahold of, so I crossed them off my list.

Crayfish also hunt at night,if the discus get too low.My grandkids frrd thiers,crayfish, goldfish,so they will hunt.

I would disagree.... More like anything they can keep ahold of ;) mine got my long fin golden ram. I was sad but he shoulda been faster. It was funny watching him climbing on the driftwood trying to get the discus though. It was like a game for all of them.

Crayfish are not a good idea they like temps a little cooler and can grow pretty big......Josie

Lol most definitely! The discus would swim up close to him slow down and turn sideways so he'd think he could get em and then and then jet off. Too funny to watch.
