i have 14 pcs of 2-2.5'' discus coming in, will they be okay in a 50 gallon tank, measurements 36"x18"x18", i was thinking whether they might be stunted because of over crowd?

They will be fine in a 50 gallon for awhile so long as you change the water daily. Be sure to feed often, change lots of water and move them to a larger tank when they reach 4" - 4.5". =)

You should be fine if you keep up with water changes as suggested. I currently have 26-2.5" in a 75g and all are eating like pigs and growing fast.
