advice needed - forming a new pair

I have one discus that is a male PB. It has paired up with a RT. From what I have read I should expect the fry to be heavily peppered.
If I take the female RT and drop it in the community tank with 6 or 7 other adult RT, do you think it will paired up with one of the other RT? I would also make sure that I do not put the PB discus back in the community tank.

It's likely the female RT would pair up with a more appropriate mate if you put her back in the community tank. And you're right about peppering with the current pairing.
