Hold on the firing squad :D

All of my fish are healthy and happy in my 7.8-7.9 pH. I am NOT going to change it. I love my fish and would not put them in any harm or do experiments on them. I am aware stable pH is more important than lower pH.

The purpose for this thread is learning to see what others have tried with regards to lowering pH and what worked for them. I want to experiment in spare aging barrels to see for myself how stable/unstable my pH get when trying to lower it.

Thanks,

Poco

I used to use a large agricultural type water tank to age my water. I would fill a Magnum 350 canister filter with Canadian peat moss and run it about 24 hours. I had to add a length of PVC pipe to the intake to reach the bottom. I think to effectively lower ph and keep it stable, this or using RO/DI water blended with tap are your only routes.

Thanks Bob. Doesnt peat moss clouds the water?

I don;t recall it clouding the water, but the tannins will give it a yellowish cast.
