Anyone use this to soak the ends of your siphoning hoses to reduce
cross contamination between multiple tanks? I know I could use a
bucket of bleach water---but I'm always ruining shirts with the spash. lol

I use to but I didn't feel it was clean enough and decided to get another siphon. Well not really a siphon I just used bought the hose.

Seperate lines for each tank, thats how I drain my tanks, but if you are only using a few tanks I would highly recommend sticking with bleach water. Make it super hot and it evaporates very quickly which eliminates any chlorine.... Net soak is almost a soap solution, the instructions are VERY clear to never allow the solution to enter a tank, thus I consider it more dangerous than just using chlorine, where even if there is a little that enters the water it will be knocked out when you prime the tank. Why not just dump some Methelene blue into a bucket, add water and use that for your net soak? Another option is 2 ppm PP in a 5 gallon bucket. That will nail the nasties!
Every tank has its own hose. Hoses are cheap Discus are expensive.

I'm looking for a source for the end fittings for the hoses---a U shaped plastic fitting
so I can hang the hoses on the edge of the tank as they are filling.
OK on the Net Soak---I'll not use it.

I use one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-WASHING-MACHINE-DRAIN-HOSE-HOOK-TO-FIT-1-HOSE-/150899018535?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Washing_Machines_Dr yers_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item2322484b27#ht_500wt_1288
I use PP. Works well for me.

Hi Dave,
I just glued together some pieces of pvc into a U shape and put a hose connector on one side of the U. After a while I added another piece and drilled hoes to cut down on the turbulence of the refill. Here's a pic of the early version when I used a quick disconnect. I've since change that to a standard brass hose fitting. I use suction cups to keep it from touching the tank water - but it's not necessary. You just have to make sure you get it out of the water when you turn the water flow off or you will siphon water back to your source from the tank.
