Good day everyone,
It has been about 7 years since I had my Jack Wattleys, and have been out of the hobby for about 5 years. I am within weeks of completeing the plumbing for my 160 gallon. Does anyone use shrimp anymore for the cycle, and what liquid test kits would anyone recommend please ? Thanx, Boyd.

It's easier ans more effective to use pure ammonia to do a fishless cycle. You'll probably find it at an grocery store with the cleaning supplies or at walmart.

Most stay away from foods for logical fear of fungal and bacterial problems that could otherwise be avoided. I would steer clear.
