I cleaned my tanks per usual this morning, then went about with my daily chores. When I finally went back up to check on the fish I realized I forgot to turn on the heater!!! Their tank is now 75 degrees. My question is should I empty some water out and put in warmer water or should I just let the heater do it's job?

I might do a little of both. Maybe bring the tank temp up to 80 with warmer water and then let the heater do the rest. I'd hate to shock them.

That is why I have my heaters about couple of inches from the bottom of the tank. They are always on even during water change.

Well I've been watching them. They are a little slow but still eating like pigs just slow piggies. Temp is at 77 already. I'll let them finish eating then pop in a bit more warm water.

Keeping the heater horizontal (rather than vertical) is also more efficient at warming the water.

Its not the end of the world. They'll be fine. You can simply plug the heater back in and let the temp rise.

Thats just what I did Eddie. They were a little sluggish and I seen a few stress bars come out. But today they are them happy healthy selves.
