I'm a little crazy with my bird photography. I don't care what it is, I will spend countless hours photographing common Birds. Doesn't matter me if its not rare or is common. I just enjoy watching birds. So its a good reason why I always have my camera. This last trip I saw a ton of Grackles ..specifically Boat tall Grackles..Down south they are common as dirt...up North we have mostly Common Grackles, but Boat Tails are becoming more prevalent along the coasts.

I took alot of Boat tail Grackle pics. These were taken from the Car at a Highway rest area... everyone else was inside using the facilities and I saw these birds and started shooting.

On my recent Photo road trip/ Vacation we did several days exploring Savannah,Georgia. I spent sometime at a nearby Wild Life Refuge, Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. I also spent alot of time in the historic city doing street photography. I have to say that Savannah was an incredible experience. I could have spent weeks there. The place is steeped in history and though it has a vibrant tourist area, It was not a chinsy tourist trap feel like some areas can be. For me, it was exactly what I wanted for street photography and more specifically Black and White images. These images are taken natively in Black an White on a Pentax K3 monochrome camera.,meaning they are taken in Black and White, just like the old black and film. I'm still learning the in and outs of it but I feel it was a really productive experience.Learned tons and really enjoyed the experience.

WE had some challenging weather this trip rain wise, and I put it to good use I think with some of these images.

Happy to get feedback..

I'm thinking about throwing in the towel. I have ridiculously hard water and am tired of scraping calcium off water tanks, replacing pumps that are clogged with calcium, etc. The good news is that the fish are healthy and can live in liquid rock! I spent over $7,500 in the last year on the setup and fish. Will someone give me $1,000 for everything?

36" wide x 36" tall x 18" deep tank. Super thick 3/4" acrylic with rounded front corners. The whole unit is 76.5" tall including stand and canopy. FX6 Filter that is plumbed through an overflow, the tank is drilled, so nothing is outside the cabinet. The whole unit can sit flush against a wall. I had this setup custom built by Skyline Aquariums in Grand Rapids, MI less than a year ago, everything is new and high-end. FX6 filter included, Fluval Plant 4.0 LED Lights, custom water top-off system so that the whole thing runs nearly silent. Also including Chem-Tainer Industries 165 Gal. Green Vertical Water Storage Tank and 29 gallon hospital tank. You don't need to buy a thing.

Fish are all 5-6"+ and came from Chicago Discus. Penang Eruption, Tiger Turquoise, Red Cover, Blue Diamond, Albino Golden, Albino Leopard.

My zip code is 48165 if you want to see where I'm located. Pickup only.

My breeding pair had a large spawn last year, and I kept the fry with them for about 5 months before separating them. Since then, I’ve noticed a they now produce much smaller spawns, laying eggs on the sponge filter uplift tube instead of the cone or PVC pipe. The eggs do get fertilized, but they disappear within a day.

This has been happening consistently every week for the past couple of months. I’ve tried moving the filter, the breeding cone and pipe in the 30 gallon breeding tank, but the pair continues to ignore the cone and PVC pipe. They’re still a young pair, so I’m hoping this isn’t a sign that they’ve stopped breeding altogether.

Does anyone have suggestions on what might be causing this or how I can encourage them to spawn successfully again?

I never thought I would get to meet Al with him in Connecticut and me in Florida. But Al informed me he and the family were coming and I started the planning. He wanted to go to Orlando Wetlands where the bird photography is rich. So I set aside April 10 for a morning trip to Orlando Wetlands and a afternoon boat trip on the St Johns river with Reg. Reg is also a photographer and runs a little business taking photographers out for bird photography and just beautiful scenic places along the river. Al and family had to choose between a morning or afternoon trip and they chose the afternoon. So the day before we meet I invited everyone over for dinner and asked Al if shrimp were ok with everyone and got a thumbs up. So I got the large royal red shrimp and invited Al a bit early so he could observe how to cook them. My shrimp recipe came from my grandmother (called her Gammi) and she made it when I was a kid so I had to recreate it as an adult.

I figured Al would want to observe as you guys know how much he likes to cook. They arrived at four and everyone got a warm welcome and Al got to meet the fish first lol.

So the shrimp came out great and I emailed the recipe to Al. We had a great dinner and I make coffee and Al found the SimplyDiscus coffee cup. More later.
He's doing 90% water changes daily and feeding brine shrimp hourly 24/7, beefheart mix and pellets. Their growth rate is too slow compared to non albino strains. Can anyone help?
