I need help please.

Hi all,
The team here is discussing our options for the forums software and one area we are interested in photo posting. I really would like to see more pictures posted that were uploaded to the forum. The problem is some users find the process cumbersome others have on occasion posted images in threads only to have them disappear. This disappearing image issue is problematic because its variable... Ive never experienced it and I cant reproduce it. It seems to happen when people upload several images at once but even that is variable. I dont know if its size related or server load issues or gremlins and pixies.

So how can you help? In this thread post pics.. lots of them. Upload the images using the forum software. If you know the size of the image you uploaded please include it (you can check that by looking at the properties of the image) post 5 images per post. If we can duplicate the issue, I most likely can fix it.

Pics can be of your fish, tanks, flowers pets etc.. doesnt really matter. Hope I can count on some help here

Oh and when you post..include if you are using. Android or apple phone, laptops pc etc. What operating system etc. more info you can give the better.

Al, I simply download these from Flickr on my laptop (Windows 11). I used the large size so the pics were not too large for the forum software. Sizes are about 500kb or smaller. I used the Insert Image icon.

Here I went to the "Go Advanced" option and used the Attachments icon to upload the same file, same sizes and conditions.

Your welcome Al, I suspect time of day could be a factor also. Something else to consider is sometimes the pics post fine and sometime later they turn into a link and when you click on the link you get Invalid Attractant.

Is there any technical reason to request only posting 5 per post? Just curious. Anyways, here are my 5 all done using quick reply. In order that I selected them using the 'Insert Image' function, sizes are 2.22M, 2.45M, 1.38M, 1.13M, and 776K. Using the latest version of Chrome 114.0.5735 on Windows 10.

I’m using my Apple iPad and taking the photos out of my library. Using the site to download. Be nice if you could download more pictures than one at a time. 4.9mb 2.4mb 4.3mb 5.4mb and 9mb.

Theres no technical reason on the 5 images .. I picked it because I thought it would be a number Of pics that would not take much time for members to do and most pics posted seem to be less than 5. If someone wants to post more than 5 at a time that would be great and could possibly trigger the issue.

I go to the insert image icon. Then go to insert files from "my computer", click choose file, that takes me to "my pictures". Click on the picture I want to upload.. and click on open in pop up window then says upload file(s) click and wait 5 seconds. These are pics from Halifax public gardens May 29th 2016. This was a foggy damp day. JPG files, dimensions 4896x3670 7.30MB-7.53MB... I do not resize.

Al, this is a 8.22 MB file using the insert image. I'm guessing it should have downsized? After it was posted the mouse over says it is 58.8 kb
