I almost expected it to happen since I have seen this so many times, no hatchlings.
The eggs started to turn white so I assume they were not fertilized. The parents cleaned out the bad ones untill they were all gone on the morning of day 2.
I did bring the TDS down to 30 ppm ( from 50 ppm) and removed the air stone that was fairly close to the cone.
Eggs again six days later and I did not see but one or two turning white after 24 hours. I was hoping to see some hatchlings this time but a few hours later all the eggs were gone.
Hopefully they learn...👍 1Leave a comment:

Pairing off in a 75 gallon tank
I have 4 groups of 9 discus in 75 gallon tanks. Initially I thought that groups of nine would be a good amount to give some a chance to pair off but now that they are getting close to 6" it seems to get pretty crowded.
I have plenty of empty tanks available so I am considering moving some of the fish so that the groups will be smaller.
What would you consider to be a good group size for a 75 gallon tank?Tags: None
