To me it’s just names. That’s a turq and a good looking one. How big is it? Haven’t been to aqua hut in years. They are more salt water right?

I normally don’t buy discus from a lfs but this guy looked good. He was actually getting ready to breed with a red panda discus that was in the same tank. His tube dropped. Pointy. So I guess a male. He’s about 5 inches. And yes they do have a large salt water section too.

Red Turquoise have blue striations on a red base while Blue turquiose have red striations on a blue base.

I miss Don and Aqua Hut. LFS stink here in NC, always could find something cool there. Not to mention nobody could beat his prices.

I was thinking of the wrong place. I haven’t been to aqua hut. I was thinking of the place on deer pk rd. Aqua huts further east. Will have to take a look. Is it better than country critters? Not much in Nassau anymore.

The place your talking about is probably Tropical Island Aquarium on deer park Ave. in deer park. They’re pretty good. Not that big of a store and a little expensive. Country Critters in patchogue is nice but also expensive. Aqua Hut is not that expensive and Don the owner is very nice.

Don is still running Aquahut. The store is a little unkempt and the floors usually wet but he gets a lot of 'oddball' [Mudskippers, rare knifefish] type fish and sometimes gets in many discus. Last time i was there he didn't have many discus.
