Medicated fish food question

Good morning all just mulling over some thoughts about medicated fish food . It is my understanding that once metro hits moisture / water it goes inactive after 8 hours . So my question is how do they bind it with flakes that you would buy from Kens or amazon without moisture , and if moisture is involved wouldn't the medication no longer be active 8 hours later ?? Just thinking this over as i just recently bought some medicated flakes. Do they really work or are we just fooling ourselves ?

Metro is not de- activated after getting wet.. It is a well known environmentally persistent chemical. Most of the dosing recommendations out there are based on zero testing that they are even dealing with a protozoan like hexamita.
