Good morning all just mulling over some thoughts about medicated fish food . It is my understanding that once metro hits moisture / water it goes inactive after 8 hours . So my question is how do they bind it with flakes that you would buy from Kens or amazon without moisture , and if moisture is involved wouldn't the medication no longer be active 8 hours later ?? Just thinking this over as i just recently bought some medicated flakes. Do they really work or are we just fooling ourselves ?

Hello, 1. Does anyone know if I need to turn off UV light as well as aquarium light when treating the tank with Metro? 2. Also I have heard 1g/20gal once a day for 10 days or 1g/20gal every 8 hours for 5 days. Anyone have experience as which is more effective or does it make any difference? Thanks in advance.
I have Metroplex 100grams (purchased from usa ), Is dose same as Pure Metronidazole ? Do as Gabe says at Jack Wattley discus? 1 gram per 20 gallons for 10 days or every 8 hours for 3 days? Or listen to the Sachem Metroplex dose.... 1-2 scoops per 20 gallons, repeat every 48 hours for 3 weeks? Thanks all !!
Metro is not de- activated after getting wet.. It is a well known environmentally persistent chemical. Most of the dosing recommendations out there are based on zero testing that they are even dealing with a protozoan like hexamita.Last edited by brewmaster15; 10-29-2024, 01:52 PM.AquaticSuppliers.comFoods your Discus will Love!!!
