two_utes, when you refer to preventative measures do you mean large frequent WCs?

I began with clean good quality stock, and made sure i did not introduce any foreign matter, including other fish to keep my fish healthy. Pleased to say its working for me, and l have kept discus trouble free this time round

You can buy metroplex off eBay Australia. It’s only 70% metronidazole but better than nothing I guess.

Flagyl contains metronidazole. you can get a script from your local doctor.

Flagyl is Metronidazole a 100% .
I buy Metro under this name in my pharmacies .

The other option is to ask a vet if they will prescribe it for you, but that is prob a more expensive route.

Sorry, but i cant help here, as i have been fortunate to not need to use any medication.....preventative maintenance is the best medicine if you can manage it.

Customs are pretty busy, there's a chance It'll get seized but its very slight and at most you'll get a rude letter from them. I import questionable things often, have never lost one.

If you buy an aquarium product it will look better than a packet of powder with Metronidazole written on it.

You can try with commercial aquarium products on eBay , Amazon , aliexpress etc.etc. containing metronidazole as their active ingredient.

Hey everyone,

I've been searching for metronidazole in Australia but seems like it is a prescription only medicine. I live in the East side of Victoria in Dandenong and was wondering if it is possible to get it (preferably legally :P). I'd just like to have it on hand just in case any of my fish get sick
