Flubenol 5% dosing vs 10% dosing

    Hi.

I think the dosing for Flubendazole 10% is 1/4 tsp per 20 gallons?

So, if using a 5%, e.g. Flubonol, it would be 1/2 tsp per 20 gallons (or 1/4 tsp per 10 gallons)…right?

    Cheers.

Mathematically yes, but thats assuming the carriers are the same in each. I generally do not trust measurements of medications by the tsp. With some meds a little under is ineffective and a little over toxic.

Hi all, Though flubendazole is a safe medication by many accounts and experiences including my own, I have a concern. This past year I have seen several posts where people have asked for help on tail standers. During the discussion it came out that they had recently used flubendazole. I am wondering if this is a real side

Thanks, I’ll have a read through.

      I think it’s also 0.5g / 5 US gallons…does that sound about right for Flubenol 5%?

One good question I saw pop up somewhere, that I didn’t see any answer for, was does this type of med ‘accumulate’ in the fish? I.e. would a lower dosage be just as effective if the water change was held off a bit longer?

Bob. That's hard to say definitively as we do not know it's absorption rate in water. What. Is known from animal models like the pig is the half life can be 1-2 days.. We also know it's poorly soluble in water...
