    Wild Brown turned very black

    Hello all, one of my wild browns turned black yesterday till today .... what is the problem do you think ... the other fish are doing fine is only him .... I treated the tank with HEXAMITA I hope this will help

    It could be lots of things, I wouldn't jump the gun thinking that its hex. Usual protocol for darkened fish is raised heat and adding salt. Can you tell us a little more about his tank/water/conditions.

      Hi Pete , the temp is around 88 , ph 7 .... 50% WCs 3 times a week

        Is it a bare bottom tank, is the fish eating? Start with 2 tbs. non iodized salt per 10 gallons. Redose salt for replaced water change water. Give him a few days with that and see how he looks.

          Maybe one other fish is disturbing it. Sometimes when they are disturbed/harrassed, they change colors (especially darker in appearance). I see this often with my other non-wilds.
