    Identifying these discus strains

I need help identifying some of my discus strains. Some of them are obvious but others are not that prominent and can be a mix. Any experts please guide me Thanks

What about these ones? And do their shapes look good or not round enough. They are still small
You may only view thumbnails in this gallery. This gallery has 5 photos.

        From LH to RH

        Leopard

Rose Red or Alenquer type cross

Solid Pigeons of some sort, probably crosses and what looks like a Blue Diamond or cobalt or related crosses

Most of these fish are really not something that you can pin a label on, my IDs are best guesses on what they look similar to. The Leopard and Rose Red are probably the only ones here that may be actual strains.

I don't mean to disparage your discus but these are often what are bought in bulk cheap and sold at Local Fish Shops. If you really want to have Discus that you are more sure of their ID you need to find a seller that specializes in them.

But what about the shapes. I got them very small. Only two i got large size which were already emaciated. Im trying to fix them by heavy feeding and deworming. The rest i got at 2 inches or so. Are their shapes good?

Their shape are mostly decent from the pics.. the leopard, red white, rose red have pretty good shape and potential. The pigeons are not terrible and with good food and care could be develop well. The heavily peppered pigeonxnon pigeon is probably a runt .. but that could be the picture angle.

Well that peppered one is the most aggressive and also gets bullied alot during feeding. As he is small he tries to be aggressive but gets beaten up when tries to go for the others lol. I got him the smallest size in this bunch. But he has grown an inch in a month with me. And is eating heavily. His stomach bulges huge and takes in a lot of food now. Just gets bullied alot because other fish are larger than him. Im feeding mainly beefheart and another high quality protein pallet sometimes. My beefheart is heavy on spirulina and garlic so it keeps their stomachs healthy. His eye size is big so yeah probably he has missed the mark to grow to his full potential.

Its also important to note that when a discus fails to grow as it should it doesn't mean its the hobbyists fault necessarily. It can get all the care in thr world and just not be a good grower. You'll notice I said it was probably a "runt" I didn't assume it was "stunted". It sounds like you are doing the best you can. Keep it up and the fish will do well.
