    Seachem Flourish Excel

So I have just ordered some Seachem Flourish Excel and plan on spot dosing to kill the hair algae in my tank. The only issue is, I have heard a lot of horror stories about this product and how it can wipe out entire tanks. Is it safe for discus? And how do I make sure I am not overdosing? Thanks

Never mind! I used something by Fritz called Algae Out, not Flourish Excel.

I use the same as Jacob now but I been using Vibrant for a while but it's expensive so I switched to the Fritz product. I had los of brown and green algae but no more.
      eBay $32 16 OZ
      Amazon Fritz $13 16 OZ.
Both product do the same not recommended if you have snails, shrimp and other cretaceous or mollusks. Personally I have lodas of pest snails and assassins snails and it has not affected them at all.

Ever had any adverse effects, Chuck? I didn't like that Fritz product at all and threw it away. Dosed per bottle and thought I was going to lose my apistos.

None so far but only used twice. The Vibrant I used for over 8 months with no ill effect just the price is three time more.

This is the same as Flouish Excel and far cheaper. I used this at the Seachem dosage on my bottle of Excel. I never once had any issues with my Discus or other sensitive fish. First thing you do is throw away the "activator" bottle.

It grew plants amazingly and Algae was never a problem.
