    Fighting discus.

Hi all! Love my discuss and this forums has helped me well In the past. Thought I would achieve two things one post some pictures at last 2 - ask opinion for what to do with a problem I have not had before.

I have, this year moved my 3 discus to a 88gallon tank- in there also live 12 or so Colombian tetras and 2 plecos - male and female. They have been living happily, feeding from my hand and relatively harmonious. A couple of spats nothing serious.

yesterday after a partial water change one of my discus - I think you guys might call a pigeon blood- is getting picked on. For the sake of this post as I have no idea on variant type I’m going to call them by name Bluey, stripe and sparkles (the pigeon blood).

Bluey and stripe stick together, all I am fairly sure are male- only because they are all much bigger than the definite female I had she spawned.

water - ammonia, nitrite -0, nitrate low, water change 50% once a week- bare bottom tank just a bee larva rocks.

any ideas most welcome for how I can resolve - hopefully without removing one of my beautiful fish.

    thanks!!!

You could add more discus to spread the aggression across the group. Of course would suggest proper quarantine etc.

I agree with Pat, 3 discus is too few to spread out their aggression (they are cichlids after all). With just three, one is much more likely to become the one getting bullied (as you're noticing), and as a result could end up with it in poor health.

Discus are schooling fish, and Cichlids. Like everyone said above they're prone to be more aggressive in smaller numbers and "peaceful" in a bigger schoal.
