How to grow out albino fry?

A friend of mine is having a hard time growing out albinos from the cross Albino Platinum x Albino Red Royal(solid red). He's doing 90% water changes daily and feeding brine shrimp hourly 24/7, beefheart mix and pellets. Their growth rate is too slow compared to non albino strains. Can anyone help?

Albinos can be a bit slower growing than regular discus. Your friend was doing good to get them to attach at all because of poor eyesight in albino fry. I don't think there's much that can be done other than to keep up with water changes and to keep feeding lots of high protein foods. Hopefully they'll develop nicely.

The advice Brian has given is good advice.
How old are they are the Albinos and how many? are they still with the parents? what size tank and what is the water temp?

Also, because of their light sensitivity, raise them in a low light environment. Bright lights will make it difficult for them to see/find the BBS

I would turn the heat up to 82F.

If my calculations are correct the tank size is about 16 us gal. As a breeding tank it should be ok but as a grow out tank it is small.
Agree with Brian raise the temp. At 80deg they will take forever to grow, a higher temp will increase their metabolism and they will eat more and grow faster. My grow outs are between 84 and 88 F. depending on what growth rate I want to achieve.
Baby brine shrimp are great when the fry become free swimming, but they outgrow it fast. The sooner you get them on solid food like beef heart the better the will grow. Don't overlook the food size it has to fit in their mouths.
I noticed in the video you posted of the fry from a few month back. The airstone was making a current and the fry had to swim hard against it. Spending all that energy swimming against the water flow could possible contribute to the slow growth rate.

I didn't catch that on the tank size. I agree and would put them in a much larger tank. I would have 50 fry at 3 1/2 months old in a 75g (285 liter) with large daily water changes.

I think between the temperature and small tank size, this is the main cause of slow growth. Even the largest discus should be at least 2 1/2 inches, or 6.5cm.
