First off, hello to all my old timer friends (who will be the only ones to recognize me)

My very good friend, Miranda of Chicago Discus, has retired and closed her store. This hits home for me because I have bought ALL of my Discus from Miranda for the past 15/16 years. I'm getting my last shipment from her tomorrow, then, there will be no more

I wish her all the best in her retirement.

When Miranda told me it 'bout broke my heart. When she told me, she wasn't yet ready to let everyone know. I hope you haven't let the cat out of the bag before she was ready to let it out. I understand that she's planning on selling the business. It sounded like he would be the perfect person to carry on the name Chicago Discus. So although Miranda will be gone from Chicago Discus is not gone.

I did not know about Miranda! That is a sad thing for the hobby but I wish her all the best in retirement. She was an excellent seller and Sponsor of the forum.

Jim, I didn't want to make this announcement or I certainly would have made the announcement myself. I did not want to say that Chicago Discus is closing. We are looking for a hobbyist who would like to expand their horizons. We have several individuals in mind who we have approached and who are interested. Until then we retain all rights, legal and otherwise, to Chicago Discus: the company, the brand, the website and social media. In our nearly 20 years in business we have built a reputation for the highest quality discus and stellar customer interaction. Whoever takes over Chicago Discus will be committed to the same standards.

Honestly I figured you would reach out to her, but, even though I don’t know Miranda, I have been irked by how carelessly this news was treated.

Maybe it’s because I have fish that came from her, via Dan, swimming in my lounge room??
