pump vibration noise

I was wondering if the pump noise from the vibrating diaphragm is harmful or stressful to the fish ? I can hear it if I put my ear right on the glass of the tank.

IME I don't think so, but you could put a small piece of pink construction type styrofoam underneath it to minimize it.

Just looking at this and my pump next to my QT tank has very heavy vibration, this must affect the fish. When walking down the river bank you must keep noise to a minimum! so why not fish in a tank, must be driving them mad? Switched it off.
