I was just checking out the hggers on amazon and i thought before I buy one let me check simply and find if anyone has info on them.
Well, I guess some do and it seemed to be somewhat negative.
Anyway, what is the best heaters out there for a 75 with ambient temp varying between 55 - 75degrees F.

Jay, I would not discount hygger heaters because Im having issues with 1. Alot of people have had good experiences. I LOVE ebos most of the time they have been great for me.. But even they have from time to time been duds. For the price of hyger compared to ebos you get a digital comtroller and unbreakable heater element.. its why I tried them. I would be willing to again..

A word of advice for anyone using heaters; please use a redundant heater control like an Inkbird to control the temperature. This will prevent disasters from occurring and the Inkbird thermostat is better than 90% of those found in aquarium heaters.

Yup, did you get the WIFI version? Those were the best deal. I used them to control the temperatures and I set the heater temp a little higher. Make sure you set your high and low alarm and max run time. Some use it the other way as a security if the heater overheats.

Coming back to this thread. My hygger 500w is having a controller problem. Just ordered the one Chuck is using. It’s a newer model than mine. My problem is the controller. It’s giving me a high temp warning. Temp is fine so I’m guessing it’s the probe. Anyone change one? I’m running 2 heaters on the tank. The bad one and another hygger 300w in the sump. Temp is holding at 83. Inkbird set to 84. When I replace the bad one I will look further into whats wrong with it. Being a 180g I can’t believe the sump 300w is keeping it at temp. And the inkbird is turning off at times. Checking water regularly and temp is holding. If it wasn’t for the damn beeping alarm I’d keep it. Heater is just about 2yrs old.

Sometimes they fail thats why we use those inkbird controller. I love the new stile 600 watt wide one. How old is the one that failed?
