    Would this unit be okay?

To anyone who keeps their aquariums on shelving units, do you guys think this would be okay? The biggest tank I would have on a single shelf would be an 125litre which should be roughly 250kg https://www.bigdug.co.uk/shelving-c4505/big340-shelving-c5023/big340-blue-orange-915mm-high-shelving-p16438/s66895?cid=GBP&vs_vat=inc&glCurrency=GBP&glCountry =GB&ppc_keyword=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwxNW2Bh AkEiwA24Cm9JFkOKAhUO2cd46J4rOKjsS73sqZBdvjGqgylwRW om3XyP9x6dSduRoCQf0QAvD_BwE I would also get the steel shelving option aswell so water spills aren't an issue. My only problem is when asking the company selling them if I can use it with a fish tank even if its way under the weight limit, they say this: (see attached picture). Is this just something they have to say? I also contacted another company and asked them if I can use their units with tanks and they also said it isn't recommended, but I have heard people of using them for tanks with no issues so I am really not sure. Thanks

I wouldn't feel comfortable putting an aquarium in any shelf like this. I know lots of people do it, but I just wouldn't feel comfortable. I have a ton of these types of shelves and, in my opinion, there's just too many points where a failure could happen. That said, if it's somewhere that 125 litres of water won't do much damage if there's a problem... maybe it's not that big of a deal.

I recommend matching the dimensions of the shelving to the tank itself. If the edges of the tank sits on the structural elements, then the weight is properly supported. If the shelving is supporting the tank, it'll degrade with exposure to moisture and become a potential problem. In every case, I would recommend putting a 1"-styrofoam mat underneath to ensure the tank is perfectly flat.
At my age, everything is irritating.
