Good morning all , anyone had any experience with the Jehmco PRO-HEAT Economy Submersible Glass Heater WBPHG-250. They are definitively on the cheaper side . Thanks
Tom
Tom, Those cheap heaters are ok butlike all the inexpensive heaters they are prone to failure a d break easy. I would not use them without an external controller. I get my ebo heaters there though.

I had multiple years of good performance with random letter, cheap Amazon aquarium heaters plugged into Inkbird controllers. It wasn't decades, but the cheap Amazon heaters actually survived longer and were smaller than the EHEIM Jagers that I used. Edit to add that these EHEIM Jagers look identical to the ones you're talking about at Jehmco. I like Jehmco, but I much preferred the cheap Amazon heaters for the EHEIM Jagers I had.
Orlushy was the "brand" that I liked best on Amazon.

Thanks Liz and JW I usually get cheap ones from amazon as well along with inkbirds , However lately I have noticed they have went to a shorter 4ft cord which makes it difficult in some locations

But to be fair... You use Inkbird controllers on those "cheap" heaters. I have had many cheap heaters not on controllers fail and when they do they can cook fish. I have had Ebo fail... but they never cooked a fish on me, they may stop working though. On an inkbird, the ebos/eheims have been great for me.
I like the Orlushy you mentioned too Jacob, have a few here. Tried them after your posts on them
But I don't really think of heaters running $23 to $26 as cheap. One thing I like about the orlushy is they are just as heavy as an ebo....definitely well constructed...thick glass. Both can be used as a club if you need to defend your fishroom. The ebo has more reach as a weapon, but the Orlushy may be more solid.
The Proheats Tom Mentioned are 1/2 the price of the Orlushy and most others.

Where are the EBO's Al ? Cants seem to find them... Also if we are talking weapons go with the 36inch algae scraper you have the reach and can give a close shave from a distance

You make good points, Al. I, personally, have never trusted any adjustable heater. I find that they work really good and then eventually don't. Or you make a minor adjustment and it swings like 7 degrees. I'd feel pretty safe putting basically any heater on an Inkbird, which I guess is my main point.
And you're right, the prices have gone up quite a bit. Maybe not the Olrushy ones, but ones very similar.

Finding this with both my Fluval E300s. Yupped the temp by 0.5 and it's caused mayhem with them

I've never had luck making a second adjustment on one of those heaters. They seem to work one time and then all hell breaks loose if you touch the dial again.

after an entire day of upping and lowering the heater, it's finally in sync
