Hello everyone, I am hoping to be a new discus keeper. I just built a new aquarium and have been stocking it with a few things. I don’t know if I should go through a build thread or how you guys normally do it.

new aquarium is about 400 gallons.

Welcome to SimplyDiscus! We don't really have any prescribed way to do things around here - I think you'll just find most of us are just nuts about discus. A tank journal is a good place to start if you want to show your process and keep posting updates as things progress. Looking forward to seeing pictures in your journal!

Just ordered the pond shield and pourable epoxy for sealing the cistern. Ya know… gotta love houses built before the 1900’s bc they have cisterns.

debating on my water filters for micro sediment, should I go with 1 micron, 5 micron, or throw in some 5 micron with carbon? Granted I haven’t the 1357 water softener tank filled with carbon. Just looking at something for some great water flossing.
