ID:	2777247 Quick update on the discus & tank gifted generously by Dan. The wood pieces are finally waterlogged once more. Power washed and placed them today. Noice!

              The content I lost here with the cyber attack related to my tiger Turks from Dan spawning again, and this time proving evidence of fertility with the eggs developing to the stage where their tiny black eyes were visible. D/t the presence of 8 other hungry adult discus, these too were eventually eaten by the parents, but it is good to know that the pair have the potential to produce and raise viable fry

              The evening before last the male Tiger Turk spawned again w one of the 2 red cover females. The pair have been tending and aggressive protecting the spawn, which is 6” from the water line on the overflow weir. Again, most of the eggs appear to be viable, but tomorrow is water change day…so there’s that

              Here’s a crumby cell phone pic for reference;

                I know pairing the Tiger Turks makes the most sense if/when I decide to give breeding a crack, but I cannot help but wonder what the TT x RC may produce since both lines are clean, without pigeon genetics.
                Any thoughts folks?

                Liz did answer this question for me in a different thread.

                I am also wondering about another possibility because the BD male has spawned a couple times with an albino golden female. These 2;

                Thoughts about this option and what they might produce?

                    Nice fish Danny but for sure you may/could get some albinos out of the cross. That's all I know lol.

                      It's a risk, Danny. Who's to say that your Albino Golden isn't actually a PB? Albinos can show no pepper and calling it a Golden would make for better sales than calling it an Albino PB. If the BD carries the albino gene, which is possible but unlikely, you may get 1/4 albino fry from a spawn. But remember, even if you get lucky and get albino fry, they are hard to raise. They have very poor eyesight. They need very dim light to even find their parents and attach. I believe that most albino fry in Asia are artificially raised.

                        Thank you Pat and Liz. Appreciate the feedback

                        I hadn’t thought of the PB potential in the AG Liz. Good point for consideration. The AG came from Miranda at Chicago Discus, so hopefully it was labeled correctly.

                        I actually had some albino red covers from Dennis when he was in business that looked pretty similar. Discus genetics

                        I am definitely leaning towards breeding the BD male to a RC female though. The RC’s already have a faint blue face, hopefully this cross might provide fry with stronger blue facial coloration.
