    Anyone try Terralit from Aqualine???

    Hello all,

Just curious to see if anyone here try Terralit. Need to find out ASAP so I can run off and purchase some tonite ;D

Any pros and cons with this product?

    Is it better than Flourite?

    Thanks

    Cheers,

    Chi.

If terralt is multi colored gravel looking stuff, then I'm all for it. Is it better than Flourite, I have no idea. When I put together a tank, I use dupla laterite and terralit. I have not had much experience with Flourite due to its price. I realize terralit is also expensive, but I have had good results with it and at one point found it for a very good price several years ago. Even on my parent's low tech tank, I used laterite and the corresponding bag of terralit for a 36 gallon aquarium. She gets wonderful growth.

take a look here if you like:

Thanks ddaquaria, wow those plants looks great. Lots of nice growth of them. What kind of lighting do you use and do u use any other sort of fertilizers or CO2 with the terralit?

You have me sold. I'll be heading off to my lfs tonight and pick up some. Hoping it would give more "life and growth" to my plants.

      Cheers,

      Chi.

4x15W Triton and Aurora 50/50 (all bulbs at least 3-4 years old)
NO Co2 - didn't want my mom to hassle with it
Ferts: TMG 10ML or 20ML per week (can't remember which)
        feeding every other day

Only problem with tank is the pH. It is around 6. KH <3. I will add a little coral to the filter to take care of this next time I visit. No additons in the gravel besides laterite and terralit. Basically a very easy tank for my mom to take care of.

Algae consist of green spot on the glass and black on the older anubias leaves.

Perfect for cardinals adn rummies also. I think that is what I will put in there next. Also some easy apistos.

Discus would look nice and most likely do very well, but I would not call them "easy" for non-aquarium people.

Cardinals would be lovely in that tank. I can picture it now. I'm sure your mom would agree after she sees the beautiful red, blue and white colour of the cardinals.

I just repotted my plants with terralit so hoping to see the results within a weeks time or so...wish me luck.

Here is one of my fav.

And as you can see, the tank is half BB and half gravel. However I am thinking of going totally BB with just plants in pots.
