    Any tetras to avoid?

Any specific tetras to avoid keeping with discus (fin nippers, fast eaters, high temp intolerance, etc)? I'm not sure what I'm adding yet but on the maybe list are: Rummy Noses, Black Phantom, Emperor, Bleeding Heart, Pristella, Lemon, Black Neon, Black/White Longfin.

The ones you listed will be ok. There's too many to mention that wouldn't be a good mix.

I have had Bleeding Hearts with discus and other fish without any nipping. But it does say they can be by google. They don't school particular well like lemon tetras and rummies.

Mervin I would trust your personal experience over google any day mate. I’ve never kept them together, but remembered reading it somewhere sometime in the past…probably on google

My most favorite tetras that I ever kept were keri (blue emperor) tetras. I wouldn't suggest them with discus, though I never kept them with them. They were very nippy and VERY active and food aggressive. I don't think they would have been a good fit, though they were awesome to watch.

I had lemons and rummynose with my discus and they never had any issues other than I don't think either of them particularly liked the 90% daily water changes.

Serpae and bucktooth tetras would not be a good fit a community tank. Tetras in general nip each other in smaller groups with no harm down; 7 or more at least is what I buy.

Neons do not like the heat IME.
I've kept Red eyed, Cardinal, Rummy nosed and Lemon tetra's with my discus with no problems.
A big school of Rummy's and Cardinals are eye candy.

Emperors and cardinals are great discus food. Rummynoses are great except they can't handle large water changes.
At my age, everything is irritating.

Long term cardinals and neons never w.orked out for me..they wind up getting eaten. Bucktooth are a definite no go as Mervin mentioned .Bucktooths should be a species only tank.
I have had the best luck with rummy nose here. They look particularly good with wilds.
