    5/26/2009 Update and Pics

    This week really flew by! I've had some equipment issues, mainly the awc system which I have decided to scrap at this point. Also I don't like the way the beefheart mix clouds the water so I will be adding a canister filter this week.

    Removing the awc will open up some room in the tank and I was thinking of adding a potted amazon sword. The scaping options are limited due to height of the tank.

    They are eating like absolute pigs. I feed them 8-10 times a day and their diet includes:

    Seafood/Beefheart mix
    Hikari FBW
    ON prime reef flake
    Tetra color bits

    I thought I'd start a thread outside the foods and nutrition section so we can just focus on whats going on with the contest fish. I read a thread over there that was talking about how certain foods, especially red enhancing foods, will turn yellow discus orange. I certainly don't want that to happen so I'd like to get some

      Hey, any issues you may have had sure don't show in your group of discus. They look absolutely awesome.
      Keep working those aws issues, great idea, perfect doesn't come with the first try.

          Evening Steve,

          fish look great. I especially like the one in the first pic with the stripes on the forehead. All are nice looking fish. Sorry to hear about your AWC system.

              Thank for the encouragement Bill. I like to tinker so this isn't the end of it.

              Kirk, yeah that ones my favorite too. And he happens to be the bully in the bunch.

                          looks great Steve, thats for sure. I like your cube setup, looks really cool. and those fish are beautiful. Keep up the good work brother!
