    Even if I try a planted tank eventually, I'll almost certainly be quarantining and growing out the fish in a BB tank.

    I really appreciate all the good advice I'm finding on this board. As mentioned earlier, I'd prefer to live all these mistakes vicariously. I've made enough of my own w/o a repeat performance if I go into discus.

            Al, I am going to take you up on the offer soon. I just got my tank 2 weeks ago. Build a stand last week. Decide to cross brace the glass tank for safety this weekend. I will get in touch with you. Appreciate your help.
