Nice! Not only got the oriole but TWO eagles. The one with the baby swan is a great shot but the one with oriole is too..David and Goliath

Yes we’ve got some interesting animals that people are noticing. Predators are moving in because there is an abundance of prey. Our Canadian goose populations are off the chart and now our swan count at one lake (small pond to a lot of you)is over 60.
Rabbits are reproducing like rabbits. This time last year we had regular fox sightings all through my neighborhood. Thing is these predators aren’t like the wild ones seen elsewhere. These are suburban predators. They’re right out in the open. Nothings hiding. these owls were like celebrities. They actually had a roped off area with sometimes as many as 30 paparazzi. And still they would fly in with mice and other things and feed the young to everybody’s enjoyment. I was waiting for the owls to start charging admission.

I'm jealous of your great horned owls chicks Tom. They are not all that common here in Florida. I would be right in there with the paparazzi.

Pat we had people from all over coming to take pictures of them. Texas,Pennsylvania,Vermont and Connecticut. Those are just the ones I talked to. Guy from Texas was in full camp and stayed on site for about 4 days. Was staying in the woods behind the owls and behind a PAL baseball field. People ARE crazy!! Next these are not the only ones on the island. Found these 2 about 15miles away at another park. . These guy are less know than the Massapequa ones. But reading up on them there are many on the island. Just have to look up.

Getting better Tom and I like the first image a lot. Are you shooting in jpg or ram? (or both). You using any software in post processing?

Thanks! I did add ambience to the picture. I’m using an app called Snapseed. Got good ratings and was free . But it was just the lighting at the time. Here’s regular pic and few seconds before.. It landed right in front of me about 20+feet.
Pat I do believe I’m using both jpg/ram. Sadly I’ve got no clue what either are . But if Al says do it I do it and everything looks better .

Hi Tom, I meant RAW which are larger files with more data in them. Jpgs are files you use for posting on the forum which can also be edited but has less data if that makes sense.

A few pages back I went over the image settings with Tom. His settings should be for the highest resolution Jpegs and Raw.. but his processing is just off Jpegs..We have not talked much on Post processing.

I can't get passed setting on AUTO and leaving it there, but I do know what's good. I can't believe how fast you've progressed.

Getting hot here and there are tons of ticks! Anybody else noticing the high amount of ticks. Went out the other day and had 15 on me. Was out east but they are in my neighborhood too. My neighbor found 5 on him just gardening.
I’ve stopped feeding the birds and they are gone now !! So not much in the yard.

As someone that has had lyme disease multiple times now I can safely say.. you dont want it. This spray keeps the ticks off. You spray your clothes.. let them dry andbthis stuff will last weeks and several Washes. Ticks can not crawl over it. It works on mosquitoes too but better on ticks.
