Great shots! Like Liz I prefer the originals. Though I do like the last pelican. And the owl. I’m guessing you don’t shot in high key? That’s done in editing.

it is Tom but it also works best in certain lighting. You can't take just any picture and edit it to "Hi Key" . Like all techniques in Photography it comes down to lighting..

I did try to shoot these in high key. These were taken at Sebastian Inlet (south of Melbourne Beach) on a cloudy day. These two snowy egrets were having an aerial battle.
