Nice Screech napping ..Haven't seen any screech near me in a few years, we used to hear them alot though. In our area mostly barred owls. At night we will sometimes get a few at a time , we can see them with spot lights at night in the trees. Can't miss them with their calls, "who who who cooks for you"AquaticSuppliers.comFoods your Discus will Love!!!

Yes we have screech owls! Very hard to find and I never hear them at night. In the Catskills you can hear them. Finding a few owls by me. Hears a not so good shot of a short ear owl.these guy can be seen at sunset and sunrise and fly like northern harriers. Very hard to get good pics. Never enough light. Something to see though. Same place a little latter in the day I got this gray ghost sitting in the grass

I admit I am jealous Tom. We have barred, GHOs and screech owls. Both the GHOs and screech owls are hard to find. I only have photos of the barred owls and only a couple not so great pics of the northern harriers. You are rocking it for sure

Thanks folks. Yes I’m getting some of the lingo. Pretty much the names of the birds. Though I got to say some I think they’re messing with me. Northern Shovelers. Really? Yep! But it’s the people you meet. I’ve got a group that we share finds. Makes it a lot easier. Heading upstate tomorrow to hopefully shoot another group of short eared owls. Found another screech owl today and just a few blocks from my house.and plenty of almost owls

Tom thats quite the assortment of predatory birds you nailed there. Great images!
One note that maybe something to take care of. In this image...
Theres two circles in the sky
.lower right side. Those look like sensor spots.. These show up most in bright scenes like this.
It could be a dirty camera sensor. Sometimes its just dust but it could be moisture as well
. Do you take the lens off the body alot?
You might want to read up on how to clean that. I'm not sure how mirrorless bodies work for that. dslrs have a mirror lock up feature that allow access to the sensor. Be very careful if you do try and clean it.AquaticSuppliers.comFoods your Discus will Love!!!

Thanks Al I did see that! But I had forgotten. Yes the sensor in the mirrorless is a delicate thing. But before I knew that I bought a sensor cleaning kit for it. I got something on it very early in owning and cleaned it off. Have cleaned it 2 more times since. Yes it a good way to freak out mirrorless users. Telling them I clean it regularly
. It’s like scratching a blackboard
. Hoping it’s just on the 180-600 lens though. And yes I switch the lens a lot. Much more than most.
Al that place is the shawangunk nature preserve. Near New Paltz. Great place and probably just about 2 hrs from youComment

Great images Tom. Wish I was closer.
The Z9 and Z8 has a feature where it closes the camera opening (where the lens attach) when removing a lens. Does the Z6III have a similar feature. I think the camera needs to be on for that feature to work while replacing lens.
