    Orlando Wetlands

Last week I went to Orlando Wetlands with my photo buddy Susan. Between my caregiver role and the moving process it was nice to get away from the house for a while. The rookery at OW is hopping with pink. Lots of spoonies have their teaspoons. Lots of other nesting birds as well! I didn't take too many spoonie shot as we were in the wrong side of the light. Plan to return in the last afternoon when that side of the rookery will get nice light from the setting sun.

Thank you Al and hope you are able to get out yourself. BTW, do you happen to know the name of this little guy?

          Wonderful, as always
It's interesting to see how much farther ahead you guys are than we are up here. Are those spoonies pink due to their diet?

Yes Jacob, just like flamingos. Spoonies get the pink color from carotenoid pigments in their diet, especially from consuming algae and crustaceans. (googled).

Thank you Tom, it would be helpful if you lightened up your photos a bit. You are shooting with a mirrorless camera right? If yes you can see the exposure in the viewfinder.
