    Squash flowers

One of my favorite parts of the summer is the fresh produce like squash flowers. You can sometimes buy them at farm stands but always best from the yard fresh picked.

Easy to make .. 1/2 cup flour, 2 eggs ,salt and pepper, milk to make a thin batter. Dip and fry..

Any special prep for those Al? Just rinse and then pat dry before frying?

Hi Jake, Yes that's pretty much it. I don't wash the flowers though as they are deformed easy..If you do wash them, be really gentle. I usually just need to shake out any critters and Pat dry any morning dew before dipping in batter and cooking.. If collecting the squash flowers early morning is best as they close up as the day progresses.

One tip, if you only have a small number of squash you can collect the flowers daily, store in a sealed container between paper towels and you can easy collect over several days until you have enough to fry.

Bumper crop... This is about 1/4 of the flowers daily.
