So today I have been in the new house about a week or so. I have been so busy running between the new and old houses that I have had little time to unpack at the new house. I do have a working bedroom, bath and kitchen so can address basic needs. Also I still have to move the cats and fish over. The cats are being feed by a friend. I tried to catch them in a cat carrier with food inside but they were too fast so I have a live trap on order. When we are all the old house the fish get a water change and feed so no one is going without care.

Today I start the guest room floor. Ordered life proof Luxury vinyl from home depot and I got one skid with 19 cases and I had messed up my calculations so I ordered 2 extra cases. Yesterday they delivered FedEx the two boxes but one was empty. Homedepot refunded me for the missing case and gave me a $30 discount on the replacement case (almost 50% discount) that will be delivered next week. That's no issue it's some of the extra flooring that I added if needed. This morning I got a notice from FedEx that I have a 31 lb. delivery for today so it's either Chewy or the missing case but usually when it's chewy it says it's from Chewy. I will see when they deliver.Just Call Me Chuck

Today was an exceptionally good back day. When I have a day like this I hope that I'm actually doing better, but it always ends up being just a good back day. I took advantage of it, though. After I took the dogs on a good run on my handicapped scooter, ate my fill of blueberries, took out garbage, washed the mountain of dishes in the sink, made a sandwich, took some chicken stew out of the freezer for tonight and thighs for tomorrow, worked my white worms, did a big WC on all 7 tanks, and just got through sweeping the floor as well as I was able to on my rolling stool. I did it all with rest in between, of course, but this was a lot for me. I'm having another break right now, waiting for my extra strength Tylenol to kick in. I hope to mop and dust next, but I'll forgive myself if I have to put it off until tomorrowMama Bear😀 2👍 1Comment

This morning is calm. First calm morning in a while and I am enjoying it but also trying to move a little on some of the unpacking. I have been so busy running between the two houses I have not got a lot of unpacking done. Now I have gotten the kitchen mostly setup. however, my bedroom looks like a tornado went thru. lol

Chuck, floor looks good! I really like the click/lock style of "luxury" vinyl flooring. We put it in this house we just bought. Economical and seems to wear well. And looks nice.
Pat, I moved quite a bit when I finished college and my first "big boy" job. I had one apartment for 6 months, another for 6 months, then we got married and rented a house for a couple of years. Then another house for another couple of years. Then moved in with my parents when we moved back home for about six weeks while we closed on our first house. Then moved to that one. I'm not sure that we ever fully unpacked. I feel like it's optional, honestly.
I *almost* had my full Friday off, but something happened at work and I ended up going in for a few hours yesterday evening. But before that we zipped around and collected some fencing materials, some gardening stuff, and had lunch. In the morning I worked my bees, those look pretty good. I also replaced all three mower blades after hitting some assorted items that the kids left in the yard the last time I mowed.
Today we got up early. I walked the dogs a bit and we shoved off a bit before 6 to drive three hours to a very big small animal swap in another part of the state. We picked up four rabbits. One that I'm not particularly excited about which is some big thing that my wife wants as a pet. So in a month or so I'll be the only one taking care of it, I'd bet. The other three are a couple of does and a buck. They're New Zealands. We let the kids pick them out and they picked (no joke) three basically identical bunnies when there were tons of different options... sigh... They're pretty young. I've got some stuff to get done before we should breed them. So I think I've got some time before that's going to happen. I also got four cattle panel trellis erected in the garden. And then hand pounded some T posts for a perimeter fence which is about 140 feet total. not a ton. Just a light rabbit fence. If a deer wants in, I can't stop them reasonably. The rabbits have been eating quite a bit of stuff so far, so I need that to stop.
Tomorrow I probably need to mow. And I'm going to help a friend from work split his bees.Comment

Jacob, the house we are moving into now is most likely our last house. So I am setting it up with that in mind (hence the paint job, water treatment system etc). With all of Tom's health issues I expect to outlive him but one never knows. I am finding that Tom is doing more for himself and is interested to doing new house stuff which I hope will convince him that he is not as fragile as he thinks (fingers crossed).

Jacob I have now the whole upstairs with the Luxury vinyl and as you have seen my basement in a darker weathered wood look. It's bee at least 5 years for the kitchen and dining area, 2 years bedroom and the dogs run back and forth and no signs of wear. The basement also no signs of wear and after a few tank overflows. I just finished the 400 sq foot guest room wall to wall closets and hall closet, also we picked up a new to us bed frame.
I am exhausted and now relaxing with a shot of bourbon and Ice cream.
