Today finally finished the Mini split, my neighbor came over to check the installation and he gave it the thumbs up. Overall it was a time consuming but not to difficult dyi.

Thank came out super nice Chuck. Guessing you can set it up when warm outside and put it under cover during the cooler months.

So making process on the 75. Yesterday installed a background which came out pretty nice. It basically needs a sand bottom and a bit more well water (stealing water from my old house) to bring up the TDS and we are ready for fish. I will transport the fish two per bucket and bring their sponge filters with us so instant cycle. Tuesday or Wednesday morning is the expected move date!

Pat it's an inverter/heat pump so it's hot and cold so we will be using in the winter also. That was the purpose of getting it, it's cold in those rooms it's an extension of the house no heat/ac ducts and the guest room has electric baseboard. This will save me on the electric bill in the long run.

I lie that background, Pat. First background I've ever seen that I liked other than the fancy ones that go on the inside and collect crap.

I did laundry but didn't hang it out because I had early doctor appointments and it was supposed to rain in the afternoon. Today was supposed to be nice and sunny so I hung my old laundry out and washed my sheets. I have a small capacity washer and a king size bed so I have to wash one sheet at a time. I scooted over to my neighbor's to visit and my first sheet was ready. I got it out of the washer, put it on the scooter opened the door to take it out to hang and it had started raining. I put it in the dryer and got ready for a bast of heat since the dryer vents into the fish room. But since I bought that portable AC it stayed cool. I donno what I'll do with the laundry that is already hanging out, soaking wet. It's started thundering now and the dogs are all trembling.

The sun came out, and now we have a thunderstorm. Oh well...

Shawn came down before the rain started again to install the external shower on my bathtub. I thought it would be an easy job, but it turned out to be more difficult than either of us had thought. Everything I can see in the house has been PVC, but the pipes under the tub turned out to be copper. Neither of us soder. I'm sure he could if he had the stuff, but he doesn't and I have no clue how. After finally breaking into under the tub without destroying anything we found the truth. Copper!!!

The poor son of a gun. He has his own old lady, April who of course come with marriage. He also has April's mother who is my age and has her own problems. She also was part of the deal of being his MIL. I am the outlier. He has no obligation to me. He helps me nonetheless.

I do my best not to bother him unless it's something that I am unable to do and is necessary. If I had him full-time, I could put him to work nonstop. But this shower attachment is necessary. I'm still managing to get in and out of the tub, but it has come to the point where when it's time to get out, I drain all the water and think about getting out before I suck it up and go for it.

Shawn has gone off for supplies, bless his heart. I gave him my debit card. He's going to use "shark bites" which we both know aren't as reliable as soldered copper. In addition, the damn plumbers connected the hot water faucet to the cold water tap and vice a versa so he needs to do yet more cutting and connecting. This, on a job that I thought would be easy.

I feel bad about not being able to afford a plumber and asking him to do this for me for free. I'm not a religious person but either I have done something do deserve having Shawn as a neighbor, or I'm one lucky old lady.

I hope to be able to shower sitting in my new bathtub chair this evening. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

I've used SharkBites and found them reliable (but very expensive). I would suggest converting it to pex. A pex crimper is a little expensive, but if you need to use two SharkBites in the project, it probably makes sense to buy pex because the pex fittings and crimps are a lot cheaper.

It certainly does depend on the space you're working with, though. And there's for sure still the first copper-to-pex coupling that you've got to deal with. I've never had a SharkBite leak personally, but I would be hesitant to use them in locations that I am not able to detect a leak without breaking open a wall.
