Danny, when you tackled jacking up the corner of the house and replacing the rotten boards, I decided that you could do anything. THAT was not a job for the faint of heart.

Thank you Liz!! Strangely, I felt very faint hearted the whole time the jacks were holding the wall up. Definitely a lot of butt puckering that day! LOL

Well, no more peaches for me... They sure were good while they lasted but I don't think I have what it takes to try for another 20 years

What a shame. The only thing better than a peach from your own tree is a mango, but nothing is better than a mango IMHO. An electric fence is the only way to protect fruits and vegetables from deer.

Still in the 90's here. My neighbors had to put umbrellas over the pool to keep the water cool enough.

Well that got done. Tomorrow I clean out the filter and store all in the pool shed and cover the pipes.

Jeep you could try to graft the top of the tree to the bottom of the tree where the bark is still intact??

You could (in theory) try a bridge graft, but that's... well... a very long bridge. If it's not completely girdled, it will probably live. Certainly not great, though. Gotta have a pretty decent fence around them. I'm hoping what I have holds. Also worried about rabbits.

I was awaken at 3:30am to a frog orgy in the swimming pool. Guessing there were between 6 to 8 cuban tree frogs in the pool and they had already laid a bunch of eggs. The pool vacuum will suck them up on the morning but man these guys are loud. Bummer they are too small for frog legs lol.

I've read a little on the grafting you guys are talking about, but nothing in great detail yet. Unfortunately, the bark was stripped all the way around for about 2 feet and I don't think it has a chance. It's a young tree that actually lasted two seasons but had tremendous growth because I was using fertilizer spikes and watering with fish tank water daily. I've used 4' tall welded wire in the past to protect them and the deer tear right through it. The squirrels lopped 3 feet off the other new tree the day after I planted it this year to get to the small blooms. It's still very much alive but only about 4' tall. I can't resist not replacing them again. It's become a habit. Either HD or Lowes should have some left when they get marked 75% off in a few weeks.

I kept a close eye out last night until about 1am because I felt the deer needed a revenge pellet in his butt, but he never showed, lol...

I am up early to go on a photo-shot on the St Johns river. This time of year there is a flower called the swamp sunflower which blooms. You can find acres of these flowers blooming plus the landscapes along the river are just amazing. Photos later.
