Sad day today, my blind dog with no eyes and death Bridget passed, so we took her to the vet for cremation. It's a sad day for us it was my wife best friend and she will miss her dearly. RIP Bridget. She was 17 years old and had a good life ate the best foods and she was happy to the end. I guess we will eventually fill that hole with another rescue.

We had a hot air balloon emergency land across the street from a house we lived in about 15 years ago. Pretty interesting. Not sure why it needed to, though.
Jacob it seems the second paragraph answers the question

Didn't have a good reason to shorten my retirement.

We went back to the local airport ~5:30 this morning where the balloonists set up and take off. The entire process from a flat piece of plastic to a balloon aloft takes only 15 minutes or so.

    and they're off.

The local airport has a balloon festival on July 4th, but rain cancelled the event this year. So this morning was a pleasant surprise.

I think I do, Jake. Today, I didn't accomplish much, but I managed to do some stuff. I spent most of my time taking it easy. The best part is not having to take those damn poison pills (chemo). I expect to feel better tomorrow, but until then, it's impossible to know whether the lethargy I feel is due to the poison pills or my back, the pain of which also sucks my energy. But like I always say, I'm a tough old broad. Monday I'll be 1/3rd of the way through these treatments. I'll make it. It's just something I'd prefer not to have to deal with.

    Nice looking bunch!
They are indeed proficient algae scrapers mate. Technically not mbuna, as mbuna are algae grazers from Lake Malawi, and these guys are from Tanganyika. They do however have an extremely similar habitat & feeding approach to the mbuna of Malawi.
Do tell us about your scale scraping experience!

Beautiful! It reminds me of the time I was hiking alone in the Tetons and had a very close encounter with a grizzly bear and her cub right about here. Very scary yet thrilling...

Happy July 4th everyone. Our friends are visiting so we took them out to one of our favorite locations, the Jackson Lake Lodge in Yellowstone, for a view of the Teton Range. Hard not to think of the term "Purple mountains majesty..."
