Florida "Aquarium Fish" Expo

I'm proud to announce the Florida "Aquarium Fish" Expo for June of 2013 in Fort Myers, Florida. Among the list of outstandng speakers, Jack Watley "IN PERSON" will be giving a talk about discus. The fish show will include categories for discus that will be judged by at least one NADA representative. We encourage everyone with Discus to participate and enjoy the Show.

A full list of fish classes, sponsors and vendors will be posted on the fish show website in January.

I will be stationed in a Ship in Norfolk VA. but I will be checking my house in Jacksonville Fl. and visiting some relatives down South Fl also. I am planning to visit/meet Hans, Larry, John and of course yourself. If I get lucky and I am free at the time will try to make it for the next NADA at the Expo in FT Myers.

I doubt I go but you never know. It is my understanding that there are not any NADA certified judges going. I don't know if that matters to anyone or not but I take NADA judging very seriuosly...LOL. Of course a round trip plane ticket could solve the "no certified judge" problem.......LOL.

LOL it's not a discus show, but there are discus in the show. Not an official NADA judged event but we will have reps at the show to assist with the discus judging if needed.

Just so everyone is clear this is not a Discus NADA show but it's an all species fish show and Discus NADA is sponsoring the discus class. There will be discus in the show. There are a few discus speakers scheduled like Jack Wattley, Tony Silva and Joe Gargas. There is even a side trip to Snookin21's facility. I plan on going to the show.

There are a few discus vendors within a couple of hours of the show. Florida Discus, Wattley Discus, Discus Origins, Angelfish USA, Joe Gargas and Snookin21.

Just to clarify, as part of the NADA sponsorship it has been agreed that the discus classes would be judged using the standards of the NADA. We will have at least one representative from the NADA present to judge and ensure the standards of the organization are upheld. If show sanctioning is within the realm of possibility I’d be happy to talk with someone at the NADA about making that happen.

We have already been sanctioned by the American killifish Association and are working with other organizations like the ACA and ALA to get sanctioning from them as well. As always anyone can feel free to contact me through the show website. Also as part of the show there is the opportunity for a trip to Snookin 21's fish house. You will be allowed to buy fish from John and arrange for him to ship them home for you if needed. In addition both Jack Watley "in person" and Joe Gargas will be giving talks, and we will have some of Jack's discus up for bid in our auction.

I believe to be sanctioned it would require a NADA senor judge. Currently there are only 3. Dick Au, Mat, and myself. If I attend the show I don't mind judging but I don't know that I am going to be able to make it. Time will tell.
