That seems a little high. It really depends on where you buy your tanks. There is such big price differences from store to store. At one of the store here you can pick up a 75 gallon for about 100.00.
Also I think by now everyone has heard of Petco infamous truck sale of 1 dollar for 1 gallon. Well I did some calling. They had a sale last october and not sure if they will have one this year. They also offer this sale at their grand opening.
So look around for a Petco grand opening and you can pick up some good deals.

I just got 2 great deals on ebay.com : a 125g (48 x 24 x 24)in mint condition for $125, and a one year old Aquanetics 500w fireplug heater that is rated by the manufacturer with boost ability for a 220g tank by 20 degrees; they sell for the astronmical price of $367. and I got mine for $50.---I have wanted one of these for a year and there were 2 on auction last week when I even thought tocheck for them!prowling around on there is like garage sailing.....(the tank I bid on knowing it was within driving distance of me, of course.)
