Re: discusfish.com
Looks like many of my current/previous Forrest shipment strain pics were taken:
I actually know the owner of the site and we have addressed this issue recently but pics still there...I'm a bit disappointed indeed of such practice.

Re: discusfish.com
I've bought from discusfish.com and the owner is Michael Li. I got two penang eruptions which he claimed were Forrest imported. When the fish arrived it came with no heat pack, and a box labeled with jack wattley all around the box. I recieved one penang which was sick and had stringy poo, and another one that what looked like was a classic leopard (i may be wrong). When opening the box the bags which the fish came in were quite cold coming from Miami since they didnt have a heat pack and probobly temp shocked the fish during transit. As far as the sick fish goes he has clamped fins, stringy poo, and will not eat food while the other leopard eats bloodworms and brine shrimp with no problem. It didn't take long for the other fish to get infected and now it is showing the same symptoms. I quickly went to my LFS to buy 40+ in meds and treated the fish. I did talk to Michael about the sick fish but recieved very little help and showed no concern. I will NEVER buy from discusfish.com because of this experience and would not reccommend to anyone.Comment

Re: discusfish.com
I wasn't going to post the following but have to now to protect Forrest's reputation:
"Michael,
Most if not all of these handheld/bucket photos you posted on your site were taken from my previous monthly shipments on SImplydiscus.com. Example: these Albino Red Spotted Greens were taken from my Jan 2016 shipment:
Your pics:
My Jan 2016 shipment ARSG pics, post #19 here:
http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?122459-PREVIEW-55-strains-JAN-2016-Forrest-shipment-(SOLD-OUT)
I recognize all the strains were of the exact fish I posted in my current/previous shipments, including Red Eagles, Red Covers, Ghost, etc...either you or someone working on your site must have gone to my Simplydiscus section or my photobucket acct to take out these photos and re-post on your site. This is really not an ethical thing to do Mike, and in fact it's not even good for your reputation because there's something you might not have realized and that is from day 1 Forrest and I always emphasize "actual fish", so pretty much all of our customers when seen our shipment photos would recognize these fish photos taken from me and put on your site aren't of the actual fish you have for sale. You have no idea how many customers have informed us of this practice of yours:
"Hi Kenny, I came across this website doing an image search and it looks like they are using your images.
Just wanted to let you know,"
The easiest solution is for you to remove all of these handheld/bucket photos from your site, and if you are doing drop shipping for other vendors(FYI I'm the sole distributor of Forrest's fish here in the US for the last 10+ years, no other US discus importer imports fish directly from Forrest here EVER), ask for actual fish photos from that vendors. Doing it that way you will build trust with customers.
Hths and again I would appreciate you remove these images asap for both of our benefits as explained above. Thanks."Tel: (650) 290-1283

Re: discusfish.com
Wow! Terrible!! Sorry you had to deal with that Austin!
Can I ask though, as a member here since 2013, why not go from a trusted sponsor? Such as kenny himself??Comment

Re: discusfish.com
Honestly it was an impulse buy and his free shipping was nice as well. Lesson learned and I should've done more reasearch in the forums since I was out of the hobby for 4 years..Comment

Re: discusfish.com
I too was scammed by discus.com . What a horrible racket! He continually sends dead fish and expects you to keep paying shipping for the replacement fish. The fish never match the pictures. After reading the above I now know he was lying to me at every turn. The fish that did survive all have issues. The only three fish I have in my tank that aren't screwed up I got elsewhere.
Do not buy.
Buyer beware.Comment

Re: discusfish.com
My name is Jordan and I am relatively new to discus. Only had them about a year. I just purchased 6 discus from discus.com one showed up almost dead and died about an hour later. I have been texting Michael directly for a refund code. He was supposed to have sent it last night but still have not received it. I have text conversations with Michael directly stating that he would send a refund and that nothing further was needed since I have purchased from him in the past and he claims we have a trusting relationship. I get an email from someone else asking for a photo of the dead fish out of water. By the time this email was received, I had already thrown away the fish because Michael said it was ok and he would send refund. Wish I had seen this forum before I started purchasing from him. Beware!!Comment

Re: discusfish.com
He uses the emails as reviews. I didn't see it posted. I did receive my coupon code but I don't think I'll be using it after I found out the pictures on his site aren't hisComment

Re: discusfish.com
The fish that did show up were beautiful though. My shipping info said it was coming from watley. Just don't understand why they're cheaper from him.Comment

Re: discusfish.com
Ah I understand just wish it was stated that way. I just couldn't get over hearing he was stealing other people's photos without permission. Just things I've read on hereComment

Re: discusfish.com
For sure. Lesson learned. If they aren't the high quality ones like you said they sure still are beautiful. Love discusComment
