Wowzers, the depth detail is incredible!
Re: Pat's Southwest Photo Tour
I spent many trips to Utah, Arizona and the 4 corners region and it is all breathtaking! Every square inch is a different rock formation than the last. If you study up on the formation and geological history of the Colorado Plateau, you can understand why and how this wonder exists!
As "Red" Redding once said, "It's all about pressure and time"... I'm glad you had the chance to take this trip!!!
Re: Pat's Southwest Photo Tour
Where else are you headed, you are so close to the North Rim, if you are headed there you are in for an amazing view. My wife and I spent 3 weeks out west two years ago. Racked up nearly 4500 miles in that time.

Thanks Brian, I actually do want to study up on how the formations and place came to be how it looks today. During the trip ancient volcanoes and being at the bottom of the ocean were mentioned. The places we visited were just spectacular and everywhere was different. I went as both a tourist and a photographer. I do want to go back. :D

Hi Mark, this trip was a photography tour and was taken the second week of April so I am already back home. Tom and I plan to visiting the Grand Canyon at some point. Sounds like you had a blast. :D

Re: Pat's Southwest Photo Tour
We visited both North and South rim on our trip. If you are going to pick just one to see I strongly recommend the North Rim. We stayed at the lodge in one of the log cabins. You will need to book a year in advance for peak times. We went near the end of the season, when it wasn’t so crowded. Pictures do not do it justice, I know I tried!
