Tiny SAFE(Seachem) Measuring Device
What does everyone use for a SAFE(seachem) measuring device? To dose my smallest tank (a 29gallon) I am going to need a 1/25 of a tsp. Where the hell do I find that? :(
I sent Seachem them following message. We'll see if they have something they can offer me(us).

Hello,
I a large amount of your SAFE product and am having trouble finding a small measuring spoon small enough to use it on my tanks. I have a 60gallon and a 29gallon.
I have an average of 1.67 chlormines so I am going Two "measures"(100mg) in my 29gallon tank when I do 50% water changes.
I am going to use 4 "measures" (400mg) to dose my 60gallon tank when I do about 66% water changes.
Your directions say that 1tsp=5g so 1tsp=50"measures" or 5000mg. So going with my slmallest tank as the lowest common denominator for what size spoon I need. I would need a about a 1/25th tsp. Does Seachem offer anything like this?
Re: Tiny SAFE(Seachem) Measuring Device
I use a 1/4 tsp., and eyeball whatever fraction I'm hunting..For 20' and smaller, I just throw in a pinch..Since you can use it in large amts for other reasons, I don't fret....
Re: Tiny SAFE(Seachem) Measuring Device
+1.. i use 1/4 teaspoon also.. and eye ball cutting it in half/fourths.. :)
Re: Tiny SAFE(Seachem) Measuring Device
I guess since you can 400mg dose 10g in an "emergency".. I guess a few 100mg extra in 30g does not matter much. I would still like to be accurate. I try to be efficient with my chems if I can be... that leaves a few more bucks to spend on fish! :D
Re: Tiny SAFE(Seachem) Measuring Device
James.. let me tell.. i bought my SAFE months ago.. and i only just now half way thru.. i have already saved LOADS!!> compared to using PRIME>. pfft!! i will NEVER GO BACK!
Re: Tiny SAFE(Seachem) Measuring Device
I'm a Safe user, but if it's less than 1/8 teaspoon...I just use prime (leftover from when I started using Safe :)) . In the past I've used roughly half a cap I think for a 29gal (one cap treats 50gal, I believe). Unless you are doing lots of W/Cs in that 29 gal...

I am afraid that large amounts of Safe is typically purchased to be used for larger systems and does not contain a measuring device. If you live in the US I can mail you one of the 100mg measures from our smaller containers. If you live outside the US, it would be easier for you to see if you could find something similar locally. You may be able to find such a measure at a pharmacy but if not, you could get a rough estimate using a 1/8th teaspoon. Please send a mailing address if you are in the US. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Seachem rocks! Once again.
Re: Tiny SAFE(Seachem) Measuring Device
I don't really measure... I dose 2x-3x at least. I know it's a waste, but I know it's not enough to hurt.

ROFL it might take a scale to figure out what mg these hold but... they look nice.
Re: Tiny SAFE(Seachem) Measuring Device
I measured this out before using my gram scale and the directions on the bottle in this thread:
